A Night to Remember – Lou & Scott’s Joyful Wedding Celebration at The Mill, Wakefield
Some celebrations are about more than just one day — they’re about love that lasts, laughter that carries through the years, and the joy of finally getting to share it all with the people who matter most.
Lou and I go way back — all the way to my late teens — and even though it had been around twenty years since we last saw each other in person, we’d always kept in touch online. So when she got in touch to say she was finally celebrating her wedding to Scott, I was over the moon to be part of it.
Lou and Scott first met while the song “We Go Together” was playing — and it felt only right that it made an appearance again during their celebration at The Mill in Wakefield. The two of them originally married during lockdown, without the chance for the big day they’d dreamed of, so this evening was all about making up for lost time — a chance to dance, laugh, and soak up every ounce of love.
The night was filled with warmth, friends, and family. There were beautiful, heartfelt speeches from Scott and his two grown-up children, full of emotion and pride. Then came Lou and Scott’s first dance — a moment that felt equal parts fun and tender, the kind of dance that says “we finally made it.”
From there, the night turned into a full-on celebration. The dance floor was packed, the music was loud, and the energy was contagious. I couldn’t help but jig along between shots! Between the laughter, the dancing, and a quick cake cutting mid-party, it was the perfect mix of chaos and joy — a true reflection of their love and the life they’ve built together.
It may have been a belated celebration, but it was absolutely worth the wait — a night to remember, filled with the kind of love that never fades.
