Some weddings feel like stepping into a fairytale- filled with laughter, warmth, and little moments of magic that make the day unforgettable.

This wedding celebration was extra special to me as I already know Becca and Josh, they've had shoots with me before and Becca is also my girls brownie leader! So when she asked me to capture their relaxed, family focused wedding celebration at East Keswick Village Hall in Leeds, Yorkshire I was honestly honoured (and a little emotional).

With a romantic bohemian spirit, personal details, and a dash of Disney-inspired whimsy, it was the perfect example of how a wedding can be both alternative and deeply personal.

The Setting: A Village Hall with Heart

Nestled in the Yorkshire countryside, East Keswick Village Hall made the perfect backdrop for this unconventional celebration. The hall offered a welcoming, down-to-earth space that Becca and Josh completely transformed into their own. With bunting overhead, DIY decor, the whole space became a reflection of their personalities and love story.

A Relaxed, Family-Friendly Vibe

From the very beginning, this wedding was about joy, connection, and togetherness. Becca and Josh already have the sweetest little boy, who brought plenty of giggles and charm to the day- and they're also expecting a baby girl!

This made the celebration even more meaningful, and I had the privilege of capturing their special gender reveal moment! It wasn't just about saying 'I do' but about honouring the beautiful family they've built together.

Guests chatted over drinks, children ran barefoot and played between dances (there was also a bouncy castle for the little ones) and tucked into a relaxed buffet served from a vintage pizza van. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and full of laughter. It was less about following tradition and more about celebrating in an away that felt truly them, easy, authentic and full of love.

Dance Class!

One of the most joyful parts of the day was a dance class held in the hall, which had guests of all ages joining in. This reflected Becca & Josh's easy going spirit and their love of bringing people together.

DIY & Personal Touches

Everywhere you looked, there were thoughtful details that told Becca and Josh's story. Handcrafted decorations, homemade cakes, carefully chosen styling, and those subtle Disney touches (as Josh had proposed in Disneyland) gave the day its own kind of enchantment.

One particularly poignant detail was the confetti made from dried flowers from Becca’s grandmother’s garden, a loved one they had sadly lost. Including these flowers was a tender way to honour family and bring a piece of her spirit into the celebration. It’s moments like this that make a wedding feel truly personal, heartfelt, and full of meaning.

The Style: Romantic with a Boho Spirit

Becca looked incredible in a lace gown that perfectly balanced timeless romance with an easy, bohemian grace. Her hair swept into a soft updo, and her relaxed elegance mirrored the vibe of the whole day.

Josh kept things laid-back with a waistcoat in soft, light tones, proving that weddings don’t have to follow traditional “rules” to feel meaningful and special.

Together, they radiated joy, especially during their couple portraits outdoors, where the Yorkshire countryside created a dreamy, golden backdrop for their love story.

Flowing fabrics, and warm sunlight made every frame feel effortless and magical.

A Celebration Full of Love

The day ended exactly as it had begun, full of laughter, joy, and connection. Becca and Josh’s wedding wasn’t just about the ceremony or the décor, it was about the love that surrounds them, their little boy, their soon-to-arrive baby girl, family, and friends who made the day feel like home.

Capturing moments like these, from tender glances to bursts of laughter, and the little personal touches that tell a family’s story is why I love being a wedding photographer. Every wedding is unique, and this one was a beautiful reminder that love is felt in the details, the people, and the memories made together.

If you’re planning a relaxed, family-filled, boho wedding in Yorkshire and want your day captured with warmth, personality, and heart, I’d love to tell your story too!
